Start or Pause a Campaign
Overview
This guide explains how to start or pause a campaign in the Taalk platform. It covers both standard and advanced launch configurations to ensure campaigns are executed in alignment with operational and compliance requirements.
Audience: This documentation is intended for semi-technical to technical users managing outbound or inbound customer engagement strategies using Taalk’s AI Agent infrastructure.
Starting a Campaign
To initiate a campaign on the Taalk platform:

Navigate to the campaign interface and configure your Description and Campaign Schedule as required.

Click the Start button at the bottom of the campaign setup screen.

A popup window will appear titled Launch [Campaign Name].

Review and configure the launch options carefully.
Launch Settings
The launch configuration allows for granular control of contact behavior. Below are the available settings:
Exclude Contacts

Refused to be Contacted: Ensures that any contact who has previously opted out will be excluded.

Has Transferred For:
-
Select how long a contact was previously on a call before being transferred.

Options include: More than 120s, More than 90s, More than 60s, Any time, or Ignore.

Taalk_Success is true: Excludes contacts who have already had a successful outcome.

Has Open Link: Excludes contacts who have already clicked on a link sent via SMS or email.

Has Been Texted: Excludes contacts that have already received a text from the system.
ReRun All Contacts

Enable this option only if you want to re-engage all contacts, regardless of previous activity.

Note: This does not reset contact history. Contacts who were marked as “refused to be contacted” will still be excluded.
Reset Contact History (Warning)

When enabled, this will permanently clear all historical contact data associated with the campaign.

This includes opt-outs, transfers, and all prior interaction flags.
- Use with caution: Contacts who previously requested removal will be contacted again.
Keep the Campaign Live Forever

Allows the campaign to run indefinitely.
-
Ideal for:
-
Continuously adding new contacts.
-
Supporting inbound engagements or real-time routing.
-
When enabled, the system will not enforce a hard end date.
Once settings are configured, click Launch to start the campaign.
Pausing a Campaign
To pause a campaign:

Navigate to the active campaign list.
-
Locate the campaign you want to pause.
-
Use the Pause button or campaign control menu to temporarily stop all engagement activities.
Paused campaigns will retain their configuration and contact history and can be resumed at any time.
Canceling a Campaign
To cancel a campaign:

Navigate to the campaign control panel.
-
Select Cancel.

Canceling a campaign is final. Once canceled

All activity immediately stops.

The campaign cannot be resumed in its current form.

You can restart it later with a new configuration.
Best Practices

Use ReRun All Contacts only when necessary for broad re-engagement strategies.
-
Avoid enabling Reset Contact History unless a full reset is operationally justified.

Use Keep Live Forever for long-running or continuously updating contact lists.
